Hall of Shame: Koshka Blackburn
No Deal or No Deal
This Monument of Infinite Christian Stupidity was a contestant on NBC’s Deal or No Deal in August of 2008…
Ms. Blackburn took her game all the way down to two cases ($1,000,000 and $5,000) and was then offered a staggering $530,000 to walk away from the game. All this moron had to do was utter the lone word “deal.” She would have then left the studio with well over a half million dollars.
In case you’re not familiar with how the game worked, she had two options. She could have either taken a guaranteed $530,000 and walked away with zero risk – or – she could have taken a 50/50 chance to win one million dollars. And if she didn’t win the million all she’d walk away with was a paltry $5,000. And after the applicable income tax was paid she’d be lucky to net $3,000.
To anyone with half a brain the ONLY smart move would have been to take the money and fucking run.
However, loosely and incorrectly quoting Ezekiel 12:25, this moron said…
“…but I wrote a check for myself for a million dollars, and I believe it’s here [tapping her case]…I don’t know, I don’t know what to do, I just don’t know…I know it’s here, I know it’s here! Howie, the contestants never go all the way, and I’m crazy. I’m too crazy. But I believe that if you speak it, it shall be done. So I’m gonna say, NO DEAL!”
If you speak it, it shall be done? Mmmm. Me no think so.
But stupid is as stupid does. Poor misguided Koshka spoke it alright, and the plan backfired. Big time.
Sadly, the utterly delightful YouTube video of this nutbag throwing away the half million in favor of a religious delusion has since been taken down. But if you do a Google search of her name you’ll find traces of her failure as a rational being all over the internet.
And the really disturbing part is, this deluded superstitious imbecile probably rationalized her colossal blunder as part of god’s plan for her.
Lovely.
